Education:
I earned my B.S. in Exercise Science & Physiology from Barry University in 2005. Since graduating I've continued my education and have earned numerous certifications over the years. Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM), Certified Group Exercise Instructor (ACSM), Corrective Exercise Specialist (ACE), and Master Trainer (IFA) just to name a few. Please visit the Certifications page for complete list.
Experience
I began my career working in Phase I and Phase II of cardiac rehabilitation programs from 2005-2007. During this time, I performed assessments, stress tests, and wrote individualized exercise prescriptions for the patients.
The next chapter in my career, I worked for two years with collegiate level athletes; both as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and as a rehab Exercise Specialist. My main responsibility was to help those athletes recovering from injuries to return to full pre-injury function. The work was rewarding to watch the athletes bounce back, but I knew something was missing.
I then transitioned into working with children with special needs such as diabetes and autism. Writing and implementing an exercise program that helped benefit their physical and mental health. I did this until I had my second daughter in 2010.
In 2011 I moved to Naples, FL and began working with the geriatric community. Working with this population reignited my passion to help others through exercise.
In 2018 I received a certification through Struthers Parkinson's Care Network, to train those diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. I then began working with The Parkinson's Association of SWFL (PASWFL) just a few short months later, as one of their group exercise instructors.
In addition to working part-time with PASWFL, I also coach boys and girls Track & Field since 2017. In addition to being the head coach, I specialize in boys & girls sprinting, hurdling, high jump, long jump, and triple jump.
Finally, I am a mobile Corrective Exercise Specialist. Which is what has brought you here. I travel to my clients and perform a thorough physical assessment in the convenience of their homes. Since the COVID-19 pandemic those with pre-existing health conditions such as Parkinson’s found it challenging to exercise in gyms for fear of exposure to the disease. The group exercise classes through PASWFL transitioned to virtual sessions only, which was great for keeping exposure down but not so great for proper form and execution. Seeing this dilemma birthed the idea for my concierge fitness business. I could go into the clients home and lead them through a session while making sure they had proper form. This proved to be a wonderful asset for those individuals who have physical limitations making it difficult to leave their homes to work out; and for those who simply didn’t want to exercise in front of others.
